About Our School

I love the special activities the teachers create for the kids like the 3rd Grade market & the Luminaries event. My son also loved the "Because of WInn Dixie" party his teacher threw for them. The PTO always puts on wonderful activities for the families like the Back to School Night, Trunk or Treat and dances to bring everyone together. It's a wonderful school community to be a part of.  

River Oaks is a special place where students are truly known and cared for. The small, close-knit community allows teachers and staff to build strong relationships with each child, creating a safe and nurturing learning environment. The dual language program and diversity enrich the educational experience, preparing students to be thoughtful, well-rounded global citizens. With so many charter and private schools in the area, parents may be tempted to think their elementary student would have a better experience at another campus. I can say as a parent and as a former district employee that River Oaks Elementary WORKS! The level of teacher experience is unbelievable- so many teachers have over ten years of experience, and many of them have been at ROE for their entire career.

But thanks to the teachers and the education system, my child fell in love with this school,found many friends. I have never met such friendly teachers as at River Oaks School.

As a first year teacher, my campus has been an incredibly welcoming place. I feel supported and helped in every new step of my career by my admin and grade level team.

I have been at River Oaks for 12 years. I absolutely love coming to work every day. This campus is the most warm and inviting school I've worked in. The staff are amazing and have become family. When we adopted our girls 3 years ago, I knew that they would attend River Oaks too. We commute quite a distance but this has definitely been home for us.

As a teacher and a parent, I cannot speak highly enough about our school, River Oaks Elementary.  From a teacher's perspective, the administrative team fosters a supportive and collaborative environment.  They trust us and encourage us to bring out the best of ourselves as educators, and to bring out the best out of our students.  As a parent, I see firsthand how the school's focus on not only academics, but also on social emotional development has positively affected my daughters.  The teachers care for students and they create a nurturing atmosphere.  My daughters and I are fortunate to be a part of such a wonderful school community.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the incredible opportunity and support River Oaks has provided me. From my early days as an Educational Associate to my current role as a Special Education Teacher, River Oaks has been instrumental in my professional growth.
